Week 15 of the 2020 NFL season continues with eight early afternoon games.

In perhaps the best of the early games, the 8-5 Miami Dolphins host the 6-7 New England Patriots. After the Buffalo Bills dethroned the Patriots and earned the AFC East title yesterday, the Dolphins have the opportunity to knock the Patriots out of the playoffs altogether for the first time since the 2008 season. Dating back to the end of last year the Patriots are 8-11 over their last 19 games, a far cry from their glory days. Knocking them out of the playoffs would no doubt be sweet for the Dolphins. A win here would also be crucial for the Dolphins to maintain position in their own playoff drive. For Jets fans it would be bittersweet. While watching the Patriots lose is always fun, facing a Patriots team with nothing to play for in the final week of the season is not necessarily conducive to the Jets best tanking efforts.

Elsewhere there aren’t a lot of compelling early afternoon games. The 9-4 Seattle Seahawks will face the suddenly hot 6-7 Washington Football Team in a contest crucial for both teams’ playoff hopes. In other games, the 1-12 Jacksonville Jaguars take on the 8-5 Baltimore Ravens in a game Jets fans will be keenly interested in; the 9-4 Tennessee Titans clash with the 5-8 Detroit Lions in a game the Titans need to keep pace in the AFC South; the 6-7 Chicago Bears play the 6-7 Minnesota Vikings in the Meh Bowl; the 5-8 San Francisco 49ers square off against the 4-9 Dallas Cowboys in the What Might Have Been Bowl; the 4-9 Houston Texans take on the 9-4 Indianapolis Colts in a game the Colts need badly; and the 8-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the 4-9 Atlanta Falcons in the Fading Quarterbacks Bowl.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
