The situation around Jets left guard Alex Lewis has been odd the last few days. He was inactive for Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins.
It didn’t sound like Lewis missed the game because of an injury.
Gase says it was "a team decision" to make Alex Lewis inactive today. Says that kind of situation will be handled "in-house." #Jets

Lewis was also held out of Tuesday’s practice for non-injury reasons.
Alex Lewis won't practice today (not injury related), but Gase said Lewis is participating in meetings.

This situation doesn’t have major football implications. The season is essentially over, and Lewis’ play has been ineffective this year. It still seems odd that the Jets are being so secretive about what is happening here. Since the team won’t tell us what is going on this will likely continue to be a story until they do.
Here is the full injury report for the day.

George Fant joined Lewis among the starting offensive linemen who missed practice. Fant is dealing with knee and ankle injuries. If Fant cannot go Sunday, it appears Chuma Edoga is trending in a positive direction. Edoga was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice after missing the Miami game with an ankle injury.
