The 11-1 Pittsburgh Steelers were the last undefeated team in the NFL before they were shocked by the Football Team last week. This Steelers team thrives on turnovers. On offense the Steelers have turned the ball over less than all but three teams in the NFL. On defense the Steelers are #1 in the NFL in creating turnovers. The Steelers have had only three games all year in which the defense hasn’t created multiple turnovers. With the Kansas City Chiefs keeping pace with the Steelers atop the AFC standings, the race for the #1 seed in the AFC is still wide open, leaving the Steelers plenty to play for against the Bills.
The 9-3 Buffalo Bills come into this game in an unfamiliar position, atop the AFC East standings late in the year. The Bills have won five of their last six, and with a loss today by the Miami Dolphins to the Kansas City Chiefs they have opened up a game and a half lead over the Dolphins in the division. With a win today over the Steelers the Bills would all but clinch the AFC East title. A loss would return the Bills to a dogfight with the Dolphins the rest of the way.
A Steelers team playing for the #1 seed in the AFC against a Bills team fighting for a division title. In late season football, all you can ask for is for the game to mean something for both teams. This game does. It’s the Steelers and the Bills on Sunday Night Football.
