Week 14 of the 2020 NFL season continues with seven early afternoon games.

In perhaps the best of the early games, the 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs visit the 8-4 Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs may be the best team in the NFL this year, but they have been living on the edge recently. Winners of seven straight, the Chiefs haven’t beaten an opponent by more than six points in six weeks. No team wins all of their close games; the Chiefs may be due for a loss soon. The Dolphins come into this game winners of seven of their last eight games. While that is an impressive run, it has come at the expense of many of the lesser NFL teams. The Dolphins have beaten a winning team only once this entire season. The Chiefs represent a major step up in competition for the Dolphins. If they can come away from this game with a victory the Dolphins should be considered legitimate contenders.

Elsewhere in the early afternoon games, the 4-8 Denver Broncos take on the 4-8 Carolina Panthers in the Also Ran Bowl; the 6-6 Minnesota Vikings clash with the 7-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a struggle to remain relevant in the NFC playoff picture; the 6-6 Arizona Cardinals play the 5-7 New York Giants in a game with major playoff implications for both teams; the 8-4 Tennessee Titans go up against the 1-11 Jacksonville Jaguars in a game Jets fans will be following closely, as it influences the Jets’ draft position; the 3-9 Dallas Cowboys matchup with the 2-9-1 Cincinnati Bengals in one of the worst games of the year; and the 4-8 Houston Texans go at it against the 5-7 Chicago Bears in the Disappointment Bowl.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
