In the Jets’ ninth game of the 2020 season, on a clear, balmy night under the lights at MetLife Stadium, the New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots in excruciating fashion, 30 - 27.
The Jets came out in the first half and dominated the Patriots. Joe Flacco played his best half of football in a long, long time, Denzel Mims had his way with the Patriots secondary, the Jets hit on multiple big plays, and the result was a shocking 20 - 10 lead at halftime. For one half of football, this was the Jets offense Joe Douglas and company envisioned before the season.
Leading by 10 points going into the second half, the Jets traded touchdowns with the Patriots in the third quarter. The Patriots then scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, including the game winning field goal as time ran out. The Jets put up their best game of the season, but when it counted the most, the Jets offense went stagnant and the defense couldn’t get off the field.
With the loss the Jets bring their record to 0 - 9 on the year and inch closer to the #1 pick in the 2021 draft.
I will provide more in depth commentary later. In the meantime leave your comments on the game below.
