Week 9 Late Games Open Thread

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Week 9 of the 2020 NFL season continues with just three late afternoon games.

In perhaps the best of a weak slate of late afternoon games, the 4-3 Miami Dolphins take on the 5-2 Arizona Cardinals in what could have been the Josh Rosen revenge game. Instead it’s the battle of the Josh Rosen replacements. Both teams feature young, promising mobile quarterbacks who replaced Josh Rosen. In Arizona Josh Rosen’s replacement is thriving. Kyler Murray leads the NFL’s #1 ranked offense as the Cardinals look to get back to the playoffs after a five year drought. The Cardinals are riding a three game winning streak in which they’ve score 30 or more points in each game.

In Miami, Josh Rosen’s other replacement, Tua Tagovailoa, leads an opportunistic Dolphins team that has won four of its last five games, despite ranking 28th in the NFL on offense. The Dolphins are 2nd in the NFL in defensive turnovers, which has helped them to victories despite the offensive struggles. Miami is hoping to return to the playoffs for just the third time in the last twenty years.

In the other late games, the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL, the 7-0 Pittsburgh Steelers, take on the terrible 2-6 Dallas Cowboys, and the 4-3 Las Vegas Raiders try to stay above the .500 mark against the 2-5 Los Angeles Chargers.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
