New York Jets Flight Connections 11/4/20

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Yesterday Jets’ GM Joe Douglas addressed the media to discuss the current landscape of the Jets, the future, mistakes, among other things. While it was obvious Joe Douglas would take blame for a multitude of the issues that have plagued the Jets so far this season one comment managed to stick out. That comment was that Joe Douglas thinks that Adam Gase is part of the solution to the Jets’ problems. While this could easily be brushed off as a non-statement, it’s actually more telling than that. Douglas danced around a previous question regarding Sam Darnold and his future with the team until he inevitable said that he thought he was still part of the future. He didn’t do as much when discussing Adam Gase. It’s possible that Douglas’ friendship with Gase could possibly skew his vision on the team’s real issues, or it’s him saving face. At this point it’s a toss up, but Douglas seems to be a guy whose word actually means something. We’ll see how it plays out in the off-season.
