Week 12 Late Games Open Thread

Week 12 of the 2020 NFL season continues with just three late afternoon games.

In perhaps the best of the late games, Tom Brady and the 7-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers host Patrick Mahomes and the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs. The fading Brady has feasted on the weaker NFL teams this year and looked lost against the better NFL teams. The Kansas City Chiefs are definitely one of the better NFL teams. It would be a surprise if Brady and the Buccaneers offense were able to keep pace against the explosive Chiefs offense. If they can’t, a 7-5 record and, at best, a wild card playoff berth is staring Brady and the Buccaneers in the face.

Elsewhere in the late afternoon games, the 4-6 San Francisco 49ers, devastated by massive injuries, try to break a three game losing streak against the 7-3 Los Angeles Rams in a NFC West showdown, and the 8-2 New Orleans Saints, who will be without starting quarterback Drew Brees again today due to injuries, take on the 4-6 Denver Broncos, who will be without every quarterback on their roster due to COVID-19. The Broncos will be starting practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton at quarterback. Hinton last played the position in college at Wake Forest, where he threw 251 passes in four seasons. The last time Hinton was a full time starter at quarterback was in 2015 at Wake Forest. That game should be interesting.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
