Jets Make a Number of Roster Moves

The Jets made a number of reported roster moves on Tuesday.

Running back La’Mical Perine and kicker Sam Ficken are on their way to injured reserve. Tight end Ross Travis and running back Josh Adams have been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster in corresponding moves.

Perine was having a pretty good game on Sunday but suffered a reported high ankle sprain. Adams will likely take on his role.

Ficken returned to the lineup Sunday after missing three games with a groin injury. He missed a pair of extra points in the loss to the Chargers. That performance combined with his immediate placement on IR naturally leads to questions about whether he was really healthy enough to be activated for that game. The Jets have made a number of seemingly questionable decisions putting injured players on the field this year. Activating Ficken for that game looks like another.

Sergio Castillo had done a solid job in Ficken’s place. He will resume the kicking duties.

In other news, Mike White cleared waivers and has rejoined the practice squad after the Jets let him go from the active roster.

White has bounced between the practice squad and the active roster all year.
