MNF: Rams vs Buccaneers Game Thread

Monday Night Football, Week 11. Tonight the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Los Angeles Rams in a battle of playoff contenders.

The 7-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into this game winners of four of their last five games. After getting destroyed by the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago, the Buccaneers bounced back by annihilating the Carolina Panthers last week, 46 - 23. The Buccaneers feature the NFL’s 3rd ranked defense and 15th ranked offense. Tom Brady leads the Buccaneers offense and has had an up and down season, at times looking as good as ever, and at times looking like he’s just about done. This week will present a tough challenge for the Buccaneers as they face the Rams’ #1 ranked defense.

The 6-3 Los Angeles Rams come into this game off a crucial divisional victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams are a tough, well balanced team. They feature the NFL’s top ranked defense and 5th ranked offense. The Rams do everything well. The offense is ranked 7th in rushing yards and 11th in passing yards, and the defense is ranked 5th in rushing yards allowed and 2nd in passing yards allowed

The Buccaneers need this game to stay just a game back of the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South. A loss to the Rams would all but end the Buccaneers hopes of a divisional crown. The Rams need this game to keep pace with the Seahawks atop the NFC West.

This is the way late season prime time games should be. Two playoff contenders slugging it out to keep their playoff hopes alive and well. It’s the Buccaneers and the Rams in a NFC showdown on Monday Night Football.
