In the Jets’ 10th game of the 2020 season, on a beautiful sunny day in Southern California, the New York Jets lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, 34 - 28.

In a game not nearly as close as the final score indicated, the Jets fell behind big in the first half before making the game interesting in the second half.

The Jets scored first off a short field following a blocked punt. On the following Chargers drive the Jets forced a Chargers fumble deep in Jets territory and recovered the ball, and it looked like everything was going the Jets way. It wouldn’t last.

On the very next play Joe Flacco threw a terrible pick 6 on first and ten and the Chargers took the lead, 7 - 6, a lead they would never surrender.

The rest of the first half was all Chargers, as Justin Herbert shredded the depleted Jets secondary. The Chargers took a 24 - 6 lead into the locker room. The Jets had just 8 passes and 82 total yards in the first half.

The Jets opened up the offense in the second half and started connecting deep to the wide receivers. They slowly clawed their way back into the game, until they had the ball deep in Chargers territory, down eight points. A fourth down pass to Denzel Mims in the end zone fell incomplete, the Chargers took the ball back, and eventually took an intentional safety with just one second left one the clock. A last ditch Jets kickoff return went nowhere, and the Jets lost their 10th straight game, 34 - 28.

With the loss the Jets bring their record to 0 - 10 on the year and inch closer to the #1 pick in the 2021 draft.
