The first half of the Jets game against the Los Angeles Chargers is in the books, and the Jets trail the Chargers, 24 - 6.
The Jets opened the game on defense and managed to force a Chargers punt. Henry Anderson blocked the punt, Quinnen Williams recovered, and the Jets were in business on the Chargers 29 yard line. A few Frank Gore runs later it was first and goal at the five, and La’Mical Perine ran it in for a touchdown. The Jets missed the extra point for a 6 - 0 early Jets lead.
The Chargers answered with a long drive deep inside Jets territory before Marcus Maye forced a Keenan Allen fumble for a Jets turnover and it began to look like this might be the Jets day. One play later the Chargers had the lead, as Joe Flacco threw a terrible pick 6 on 1st and ten at the Jets four yard line.
From there it was all Chargers, as Justin Herbert and friends continually torched the depleted Jets secondary.
We head into the second half with the Jets trailing the Chargers by 18 points.
Enjoy the second half everyone.
