The Jets did not emerge from their 35 - 9 beatdown against the Chiefs unscathed. Several Jets suffered injuries on Sunday, chief among them Sam Darnold.
Darnold hurt his already injured throwing shoulder on a quarterback scramble. He is scheduled for both an MRI on his ailing shoulder and a second opinion. That does not sound all that promising, though Adam Gase expressed optimism Darnold would be back out there Monday Night against the Patriots. Darnold himself expects to play, saying “I’m focused on playing and not missing any games. I’ll try my best to practice and take it from there.”
On other fronts, Connor McGovern injured his knee and may miss practice time. His status for the game on Monday is uncertain. Quinnen Williams hurt his hamstring and is also expected to miss practice time. His status for the game is also uncertain.
Older injuries include Breshad Perriman, who is still in the concussion protocol, and Jamison Crowder, who has a groin injury. Both are uncertain for the game on Monday.
