The Jets placed slot corner Brian Poole on injured reserve earlier this week. Today the team confirmed he will have surgery and miss the rest of the season.

He was placed on IR earlier this week.
Poole was one of the few consistent members of the defense so his loss will be felt.
The Jets released their injury report on Thursday, which had another starter at cornerback Bless Austin missing practice. Austin will get an MRI on a neck injury.

Combining the injuries of Poole and Austin with the release of Pierre Desir, the Jets have lost all three of their starting cornerbacks in the span of a couple of days. Of course cornerback was a weakness so these losses aren’t necessarily devastating aside from Poole. Still they were starters for a reason, they are better than the guys backing them up.
The silver lining is it will open playing time for young players like Bryce Hall to gets some experience.
