Onwuasor signed as a free agent from Baltimore in the offseason. He was brought in to provide depth at the linebacker position but has yet to play this season due to a knee injury he suffered in training camp. He is experienced with 32 starts. With Avery Williamson now in Pittsburgh, the Jets could use some help at the linebacker position. It would not be surprising to see Onuwasor get some playing time in the weeks ahead to audition for a role next season.
Luvu is recovering from a groin injury that saw him placed on injured reserve last month. The former undrafted free agent from Washington State has 7 tackles in 6 games so far for the Jets this season.
