After Week 10 Only the Jaguars Are Within a Game of the Jets for the Top Pick in the 2021 NFL Draft

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

We are now ten weeks into the 2020 NFL season. The Jets have now passed their bye week as the only winless team in the league. That means they would have the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft if the season ended today.

The Jets are not a lock to be at number one overall by the end of the season, but every team aside from the Jacksonville Jaguars is currently at least two games behind New York in the chase for that selection.

Here is the current Draft order according to Tankathon.

  1. Jets 0-9
  2. Jaguars 1-8
  3. Washington 2-7
  4. Dallas 2-7
  5. Chargers 2-7
  6. Dolphins (from Texans 2-7)
  7. Bengals 2-6-1
  8. Giants 3-7
  9. Panthers 3-7
  10. Falcons 3-6

The Jets also have Seattle’s first round pick from the Jamal Adams trade. Seattle is currently in Playoff position. The order of picks for Playoff teams is based on the results of postseason games. It would be best for the Jets if Seattle did not earn a bye week in the first round, which would leave a Wild Card loss and a higher pick on the table. (It would be even better if Seattle missed the Playoffs.) Currently the Seahawks are 6-3 and in a three way tie for the NFC West lead.
