Week 10 Late Games Open Thread

Week 10 of the 2020 NFL season continues with just three late afternoon games.

In perhaps the best of an unusually large slate of late afternoon games, the 6-2 Seattle Seahawks square off against the 5-3 Los Angeles Rams in a battle for first place in the NFC West. The Seahawks, led by NFL MVP candidate Russell Wilson, have fallen on hard times recently after going undefeated in their first six games. The Seahawks have lost two of their last three games, and their porous pass defense has been the main culprit. A far cry from the Legion of Boom days, the Seahawks pass defense and overall defense rank last in the NFL. If they can’t get that fixed they will have problems in the playoffs. Nonetheless, the sublime Russell Wilson and his offensive chums currently have the Seahawks in first place in the NFC West, one game ahead of the Los Angeles Rams. If the Rams can beat the Seahawks today the Rams will tie the Seahawks atop the NFC West with a 6-3 record, and they will hold the head to head tiebreaker. If on the other hand the Seahawks prevail, they will open up a two game lead on the Rams, plus the head to head tiebreaker. This is a huge game for the NFC West playoff picture.

Elsewhere in the late afternoon games, the 3-5 Denver Broncos face the 5-3 Las Vegas Raiders in an AFC West matchup; the 2-6 Los Angeles Chargers try to spoil the 5-3 Miami Dolphins’ playoff aspirations; the 7-2 Buffalo Bills take on the 5-3 Arizona Cardinals in a game with major playoff implications for both teams; the 2-5-1 Cincinnati Bengals and their rookie quarterback Joe Burrow try to knock off Ben Roethlisberger and the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC North showdown; and the injury riddled 4-5 San Francisco 49ers clash with the 6-2 New Orleans Saints.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
