Jets Week 9 Anti-Game Ball: Pierre Desir

The Jets lost to the Patriots last night which means it’s time for what has become a weekly tradition around here. We will give out the anti-game ball.

We do our best to avoid giving the anti-game ball to repeat recipients. Odds are that if somebody is consistently in contention, he is one of the worst players on the team and could theoretically get it every week. We especially try to avoid giving it to the same person in back to back weeks.

It’s really tough to find somebody more worthy than Pierre Desir, however. Even though Desir has already gotten this dubious distinction twice in 2020 and was last week’s recipient, he has earned another anti-game ball for yet another dismal performance against the Patriots.

Desir was a frequent target of Cam Newton and Jakobi Meyers last night. He seemed so afraid of getting beaten over the top, it looked like he was virtually playing safety and allowing anything in front of him.

His effort also seemed somewhat lacking on a key play.

The way Desir has played this season, the Jets might as well have just kept Trumaine Johnson.

He gets another anti-game ball from me.

Who gets yours?
