New York Jets Flight Connections 10/7/20

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. As of right now, the New York Jets own the 1st pick in the NFL draft. There’s a solid chance that the team ends up picking #1 overall by the end of the year, too. The question becomes then that if the team does in fact pick 1st, do they take Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence or do they trade a haul of picks to another QB needy team. The answer to that question boils down to how the Jets feel about current QB Sam Darnold. Darnold has been pretty hit-or-miss to start his career, with this season looking like a nightmare in terms of development for the young QB. Personally if I’m the Jets, I take Lawrence with the selection and hope to build around him in FA and through the draft. With that comes the hope that Joe Douglas is the man who can actually build around a QB - another issue the Jets have seemed to have in recent years as well.
