Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams’ attorney Alex Spiros announced on Monday that all charges against Williams have been dropped. Spiros described the incident as “nothing more than a technical issue.”

Williams was facing weapons charges over an incident last March at LaGuardia Airport. Williams was arrested for possession of an unregistered gun en route to boarding a plane. The gun was registered in Alabama but not in New York.
The dismissal of all charges against Williams is a rare bit of good news for the Jets this year. Williams has been of the few Jets playing well, with signs that he may live up to his billing as the third overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Along with John Franklin-Myers, Williams has been getting good pressure on the quarterback from the interior defensive line. With the criminal charges no longer hanging over his head, perhaps Williams can develop into the player the Jets envisioned when they drafted him.
