Monday Night Football, Week 7. Tonight the Los Angeles Rams host the Chicago Bears.
The surprising 4-2 Rams come into this game off a damaging loss to their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams have a well balanced football team ranking 10th in the NFL in offense and 6th in defense. They have benefitted from playing four of their six games thus far against the atrocious NFC East teams, so it is fair to wonder whether their 4-2 record is a mirage. Tonight the Rams take a step up in competition when they face the 5-1 Chicago Bears.
The Bears come into this game winners of two straight and five of six, including wins over the Buccaneers and the Colts. The Bears live and die with their defense, which has held opponents under 20 points in four out of six contests. If the defense has an off night the Bears 29th ranked offense is hard-pressed to compensate.
The Rams need this game to stay within a half game of the first place Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West, and the Bears need this game to stay a half game ahead of the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. With major playoff implications for both teams at stake, this game promises to be one of the more interesting Monday Night games this year.
It’s the Rams and the Bears on Monday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
