Sunday Night Football, Week 7. Tonight the Arizona Cardinals play host to the Seattle Seahawks in Glendale, Arizona.
The 4-2 Cardinals are coming off two straight blowout wins against the Jets and the Cowboys, but the level of competition amps way up today against the Seahawks. The Cardinals are a well balanced team, featuring the league’s #5 ranked offense and #12 ranked defense, but they have benefitted greatly from one of the easiest schedules in the NFL thus far. Tonight’s game against the Seahawks should provide a much stiffer test. A win tonight against Seattle would move the Cardinals to within a half game of first place in the NFC West, while a loss would put them 2.5 games back and all but extinguish their hopes for a division crown.
The 5-0 Seahawks are one of only three remaining undefeated teams in the NFL. Unlike the Cardinals, the Seahawks are not a balanced football team. They feature MVP candidate Russell Wilson and the league’s #4 ranked passing attack, while also featuring the league’s worst defense. The Seahawks have given up 415 or more yards of total offense to every opponent this season. They have allowed more than 300 passing yards to all but one opponent. Legion of Boom this isn’t. But so far Russell Wilson has cured all Seahawks defensive ills, as Seattle has managed to outscore their opponents, scoring 27 or more points in every game this season.
It’s the Cardinals and the Seahawks in an NFC West showdown on Sunday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
