Jets vs Bills Game Thread

It’s week seven of the 2020 NFL season and the New York Jets are hosting the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium. With Sam Darnold, Mekhi Becton and Denzel Mims returning to action today, there is perhaps cause for a little cautious optimism.

The Bills come into the game banged up. Tight ends Dawson Knox, Lee Smith, Tommy Sweeney and Nate Becker have all been placed on the COVID-19 list and will miss today’s game, leaving the Bills with Tyler Kroft as the sole tight end on the roster. Wide receiver John Brown will miss the game with an injury, as will cornerbacks Josh Norman, E.J. Gaines and Levi Wallace. The rash of Bills injuries and illnesses may leave the Jets an opening to get their first win of the season today.

The Jets come into the game as healthy as they have been all year. Quarterback Sam Darnold and left tackle Mekhi Becton return to the lineup after missing a couple of games, and wide receiver Denzel Mims makes his long awaited NFL debut after missing all of training camp and the first six games of the season with hamstring injuries. Wide receiver Jamison Crowder and guard Alex Lewis will miss the game with injuries, but this is as close as the Jets have been all season to operating with the offense they envisioned to start the year. It will be interesting to see how Darnold and crew fare against a mediocre and depleted Bills defense.
