The Jets have expressed cautious optimism throughout the week about the status of quarterback Sam Darnold for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. It appears he will be in the starting lineup on Sunday.
Barring a setback in practice today, Sam Darnold will start at QB for the #Jets on Sunday against the #Bills, per source.

Darnold missed the last two games after suffering a shoulder injury in the Jets’ Week 4 loss to Denver. He had been limited at practice earlier in the week, but the team was hopeful he would be able to suit up against Buffalo.
At the very least, this would bring a merciful end to Joe Flacco’s brief tenure starting for the Jets. Flacco was ineffective in his two starts. On a bad team, I don’t think anybody really wants to see a past his prime 35 year old quarterback.
Darnold’s 2020 season has been disappointing. For their part, the Jets have not put him in a position to succeed. Can he turn things around beginning on Sunday? We will find out.
