According to multiple reports, the New York Jets have agreed to trade edge defender Jordan Willis and a 2021 7th round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2022 6th round draft pick.
Jordan Willis played in 11 games over the last two seasons with the Jets, registering seven tackles and one sack. In recent weeks Willis was buried on the Jets roster, often inactive on game day. In four years Willis has just three sacks for his career. It is surprising the Jets were able to get any compensation for Willis at all, though swapping a top 7th round pick in 2021 for an unknown sixth round pick in 2022 is almost nothing.
The dismantling of the Jets continues apace, as Joe Douglas attempts to squeeze whatever draft picks he can out of Jets players that have no future with the team.
