SNF: Rams vs 49ers Game Thread

Sunday Night Football, Week 6. Tonight the San Francisco 49ers play host to the Los Angeles Rams in Santa Clara, California.

The 2-3 49ers are among the more disappointing teams thus far in the 2020 season. Wracked by injuries and troubled by the ineffective play of starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers come into this game fresh off an embarrassing blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins. Expected to challenge for a Super Bowl berth, the 49ers find themselves uncomfortably close to falling out of the playoff race. A loss tonight against the Rams would put the 49ers in a deep hole it would be difficult to climb out of.

The surprising 4-1 Rams come into this game fresh off a 30-10 domination of the Football Team. The Rams only loss this year came against a tough Buffalo Bills team. That three point loss is the only thing currently separating the Rams from the undefeated Seattle Seahawks atop the NFC West division. A win tonight would give the Rams a three game lead over the 49ers in the division, while a loss would pull the 49ers to within a game of the Rams.
