Jets vs Dolphins Game Thread

It’s week six of the 2020 NFL season and the Miami Dolphins are hosting the the New York Jets. Every game from this point on feels like a “will this be the game that gets Adam Gase fired?” watch, at least unless and until Gase and the Jets are able to string together some wins.

The Dolphins come into the game with a newly healthy secondary and coming off an unexpected blowout win over the San Francisco 49ers last week. Ryan Fitzpatrick is doing Ryan Fitzpatrick things. Three Fitzmagic games, two Fitztragic games. Turning the ball over too much, having more success than anyone reasonably expects, getting fired up, having more fun on the football field at 38 years old than most guys at 25. It’s the Ryan Fitzpatrick show, and it’s always an adventure. If the Jets see Fitztragic today they might have a chance for a victory.

The Jets come into the game missing Sam Darnold for the second straight game. Veteran Joe Flacco replaces Darnold in the lineup, and although anything is possible, Flacco inspires little hope of a breakout Jets offensive performance. The Jets are also without the traded Le’Veon Bell today, but Breshad Perriman is back in action. The Jets offense with Flacco under center will probably avoid turnovers for the most part, but only because it will be running in hyper-safe mode. It’s difficult to picture a Flacco led offensive explosion; chances for victory probably ride on a Fitztragic meltdown.

It’s the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins in the sixth game of the 2020 NFL season. Please leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
