The first half of the Jets game against the Denver Broncos is in the books, and the Jets trail the Broncos, 17 - 13.
On offense, it was all Sam Darnold all the time. He opened the game with a wild 46 yard scramble for a touchdown to give the Jets their first lead of the season, and he closed the half with a long field goal drive to get the Jets within four points at the half. In between the Jets offense didn’t accomplish much, as they couldn’t get anything going on the ground, Darnold left the game briefly with a shoulder injury, and the injuries for the Jets continued to mount.
On defense the Jets played sloppy, undisciplined, penalty infested football. Pierre Desir was toasted on a regular basis, including an embarrassing Jerry Jeudy touchdown that rebounded off Desir’s facemask. When Desir wasn’t getting burned, the rest of the defense committed penalty after penalty, keeping Denver drives going.
We go into the second half with the Jets trailing at halftime for the fourth straight game, 17 - 13.
Enjoy the second half everyone.
