Good morning, Gang Green Nation! The Patriots lost in the first round of the AFC playoffs yesterday. It was their fifth loss in their last nine games and their third home loss in their last four home games. Bottom line: since the middle of the 2019 season the Patriots have been a mediocre football team, with an ancient, mediocre quarterback, a mediocre run defense, and a mediocre rushing and passing offense. For the first time in ages, this looks like it will be more of a major rebuild than a minor retooling for the oldest team in the NFL. Also for the first time in ages, the Patriots may not have the best quarterback in the AFC East next season. The division is up for grabs next year. It remains to be seen if the Jets have what it takes to be the team to do the grabbing.
