New York Jets Flight Connections 1/15/20

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day! Two great players in the NFL retired yesterday, one of which was quite a surprise. The first was Chargers’ TE Antonio Gates, while the other was Carolina Panthers’ LB Luke Kuechly. While Gates seemed to be fighting father time for years, Luke Kuechly was only 28 years old when he announced it yesterday. And though it’s usually rare for star players to retire early, we’ve seen it recently with Calvin Johnson, and Patrick Willis doing the same. It makes one start to think that with new details emerging about CTE; and the accumulation of injuries sustained playing in the NFL, players are becoming more inclined to hang up the cleats early. Personally, as long as the person is happy with their decision, I support that 100%. That said, I selfishly hope Jamal Adams or CJ Mosley don’t retire anytime soon while wearing Green and White.
