The 45 / 13 the " Mountain Line " draft

  • Well after alot of work I've done a pre draft for our Jets. Some will like and some will hate but overall the plan was adding picks and making value picks in each rd. Trades were done and with proper value and with logic for them. The goal is the future and some positions may have been lacking ,The plan was defense in FA and youth to The offense.
  • Trades Rd 1 #11( 1250) to Denver for #15 (1050) , rd 3 #83 (175) and a 2021 4th =1275 ,Denver gets ahead of Vegas for Ruggs.
  • Rd 2 #48 (420) to Philly for picks #53(370) , rd5 #148(33) and a 2021 5th = 430 ,Philly moves up for Antoine Winfield
  • Rd 3 #79 (195) to Baltimore for #92 (132) , rd 4 #124( 48) And a 2021 6th = 200 , Ravens move up for WR Michael Pittman Jr usc , Lamar needs a big wr.
  • Rd 4. Pick 110 (74) to the Rams for pick #116 (62) and rd 6 #179 = 81 pts , Rams move up for G Ben Cleveland Georgia.
  • Rd 5 pick #140 (36) to Green bay for #157 (28) , #219 (3) and 220(3) = 34 took a loss but added 2 7ths to get a jump on UDFA. Green bay moves up for Stanford QB KJ Costello nice backup.for Rogers .
  • Sidenote I only traded original jets picks . This gives us a total of 13 picks this year and next year 11 including the giants Leo trade. 24 picks in two years helps a rebuild. The draft was done on a mock site using multiple boards and 10 times and the guys were their when I drafted every time. On to the draft.
  • Round 1 - Pick #15 LT Meckhi Becton Louisville , at 6'7 365 lbs the anchor of the Mountain is selected. Fluid and athletic big man ,technique needs aliitle.work but this kid will be a monster.
  • Rd 2 - Pick # 53 WR Tyler Johnson Minnesota 6'2 205 excellent route runner, best hands in the draft and will become Sam's goto guy fast. Move the chains guy.
  • RD 3 - Pick #68 Bradlee Anae edge/OLB Utah. 6'4 260 solid pass rusher with an array of power moves good value here ,had to jump on him.
  • RD 3 - Pick #83 C - Ceasar Ruiz - 6'4 325 lb center Michigan . Strong ,excellent in space, pulls and gets to the edge with ease, able to reach 2nd level, the captain of the Mountain
  • Rd 3 pick #92 - RT - Lucas Niang - big 6'7 345 , very athletic ,dominant pass blocker , needs to work on run blocking but will be good. His hip injury let's him slide to here .
  • RD 4 pick #116 Noah Igbinoghene CB Auburn. Track star ,fast 6' 200 lb man corner, has kick return ability and has taken one to the house every year in college , Value to good to pass up
  • Rd 4 pick #124 WR Denzell Mims Baylor. 6'3 215 ,huge catch radius, good hands, long strider. Sam gets another big target ,who runs a good route tree.
  • RD 5 pick #148 LG - Michael Onwenu Michigan , 6'3 355 . Awesome lateral mobility, easily pulls to The edge , very athletic ., The knock will be size and short arm ,but at guard im.ok with that.
  • Rd 5 pick #157 RB - Kylin Hill , 5" 10 215 . He is a 3 down back ,who runs a complete route tree, has enough speed but not elite makes him drop. One cut downhill runner .
  • Rd 6 pick #179 - RG - Steven Gonzalez Penn St. 6'4 345 ,mean ,nasty guard. Run blocking is vicious, can squat and anchor in the passing game, is not very athletic ,this is a Bull. My comparison is Richie Incognito but without the headache .
  • Rd 6 pick #190 Willie Gay Jr OLB Miss St. 6'3 240 under the radar guy. Can rush the passer ,excellent sideline to sideline speed . Can cover but needs work.
  • Rd 7 pick #219 Jaron Bryant CB/S Fresno St. 6'1 190 ,very good zone but not good in Man
  • Rd 7 pick #220 Dominik Eberle K Utah St. Big leg outside of 40 ,accurate fg and bad weather kicker. Draft one every year in rd 7 . We will find one.
  • Conclusion The Mountain
  • LT Becton 6'7 365
  • LG Onwenu 6'3" 355
  • C Ruiz 6'4' 325
  • LG Gonzalez 6'4 345
  • RT Niang 6'7 350 (easily can add
  • Total 1740 lbs of beef. Sam will have a ton to time behind this mammoth wall.
  • Well their it is , a 13 gem of a draft. This is part of the plan ,free agency fills holes at corner, edge and stop gaps in the line and a reciever. Next year's 11 picks add to the dynasty.
  • It is a mock, guys you may like may have been drafted by another team . Guys were selected on a Bpa/need for the Jets and with positional values. For example. At 15 their isn't much of a drop off at WR then in rd 2. But the drop off is huge between the A first rd LT and a second rd Lt. PLease don't be the guy nitpicking a mock to death over guys that weren't selected. As for free agency If Jones and Roby are your dream then roll with It ,if Everson Griffith is an edge you like to see added then add him. My belief is edge and cb are two strong free agent classes and GM Joe will.take care of them. Offense is very weak in FA compared to D. So the D holes are assumed in this to be done in FA.
