MNF: Texans vs Saints Game Thread

Monday Night Football, Week 1. In the first game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader, the Houston Texans travel north to take on the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome. This is a showdown between the veteran future Hall of Fame quarterback, Drew Brees, and the young upstart gunning for him, Deshaun Watson.

Drew Brees put together another great year in 2018, tossing 32 touchdown passes and just five interceptions. Only two other quarterbacks in NFL history have ever done that: Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Meanwhile, all Deshaun Watson has done in his first two years in the NFL is become the first quarterback in NFL history to post a passer rating of 103 or better in both of his first two years in the league.

This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the Texans and Saints. The home team has won each of the first four games. The last time these two teams met was in 2015 in Houston. The Texans won that game, 24-6. That was the last time the Saints were held below 10 points in a game.

It’s the Texans and the Saints in the Monday Night Football season debut.

Enjoy the game everybody.
