Kaare Vedvik’s Jets debut was ugly. The kicker attempted one extra point and one field goal. He missed both in the team’s 17-16 loss to Buffalo.
To the surprise of nobody, the Jets will bring in kickers for a workout tomorrow.
The Jets will be holding a kicking tryout tomorrow with the intent of finding a new guy. Another rough outing for Vedvik who end up looking for his fourth team since last month

Adam Gase showed his faith in Vedvik was gone in the second half. The Jets scored a touchdown to take a 14-0 lead, and Gase opted to go for two. The score did not require the two point attempt. Gase simply felt like it was the higher percentage play because of his kicker’s struggles.
The kicking situation has been ugly in 2019. New general Joe Douglas has not had an opportunity to do much to fix the team’s issues at cornerback, but he has had ample time to find an adequate kicker. He failed to bring in competition for Chandler Catanzaro. Then he made a mistake signing Taylor Bertolet (also without competition). Vedvik makes a third mistake, and it was costly.
