The Jets announced a pair of promotions to their executive staff today.

The New York Jets announced today that Hymie Elhai, the team’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel, has been named President and that Brian Friedman, the team’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Elhai succeeds Neil Glat who, as announced this past Friday by the team, is transitioning to a new role as Senior Advisor.

Currently entering his 20th year with the Jets, Elhai will report to Chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson and oversee all team business operations. Elhai will also work with Head Coach Adam Gase and General Manager Joe Douglas to integrate football and business operations.

Elhai has reportedly been gaining influence within the organization recently so this comes as no shock. Without knowing the inner workings of the franchise, one can only guess what it means. There is a good chance it will have no impact on the product we see on the field.
