Thursday Night Football, Week 4. Tonight the Philadelphia Eagles travel west to take on the Green Bay Packers in a NFC showdown.
The Eagles come into this game desperate for a win, as they are already two games behind the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East, coming off a slow 1-2 start to the season. A loss would put the Eagles in a deep hole early in the season.
The Packers come into this game with a 3-0 record, leading the NFC North. They have won four of the past five games between these two teams. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2016, when the Packers won 27-13. The Packers are off to their first 3-0 start since 2015 in spite of an offense that is struggling, having failed to gain 350 yards in each of the first three games of the season. A Packers organization accustomed to being carried by Aaron Rodgers and the offense is suddenly experiencing role reversal as the much improved defense leads the way.
For the Eagles, quarterback Carson Wentz is struggling to prove he can win consistently. The team struggled last year until an injury forced Wentz to give way to backup Nick Foles, whereupon the team promptly went on a playoff run. As of today, in only one of Wentz’s four seasons with the Eagles has the team had a winning record with Wentz at the helm.
It’s the Packers and the Eagles on Thursday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
