On the Jets signing David Fales:
Jets don’t Fales me now!!
-DARN..that never gets..OLD!!
On the Jets special teams receiving an anti-game ball:
Special Teams should not be included in the “everybody”
Kicken Sam Ficken stayed perfect Lach Edwards had three punts inside the 20 with no touchbacks and returns were average under 6 yds per punt. And lets not forget the ST touchdown by Maulet.

On who to blame for the Jets ineptitude:
Even Gase said it wasn’t Falk’s fault
He basically said the entire offense didn’t know what they were doing. Said it was frustrating to see Falk know what was going on and the rest of the guy running the wrong plays. That’s disgusting and unacceptable, and it’s 150% on Gase if that’s the case. If players aren’t prepared it’s on him.

On the Jets punting late in the game:
There was a lot of criticism of Gase for punting down two scores at the end of the game yesterday. It was said he gave up. I have an alternate view. I think Gase was playing the percentages. Based on current results the defense and return teams gave the Jets a better chance to score than the offense. Gase didn’t give up. He was fighting until the end for those two scores. Now why he bothered running any plays on offense I will never understand.

On some takeaways about the Jets:
As much as I’d like to see Gase fired and Williams take over
There are some things that came to mind in the midst of this debacle. 1) This is the first year in a new system for most players. They need some time to get acclimated to the terminology, plays, timings, etc. For Sam, it’s his second system in as many years; it took him 3/4 of the year to get comfortable in Bates’s system last year, and I could see the same happening this year. It’s interesting that Gase didn’t blame Falk (who has experience in the system) for what happened but rather said that players weren’t able to execute properly. This leads me to believe that the system is not as easy to pick up. I think someone mentioned in another thread the Dolphins starting slow the first year Gase was at the helm and then going on a streak to close out the season. 2) Injuries. We have players out at so many key positions. Mosley and Williamson, the heart of our defense, are both out and we have a rookie filling in for them. Jenkins, who is sadly our only decent pass-rusher, is also out. Our probably-gonna-be-a-star DL Quinnen WIlliams is also out. Not to mention the all-important Sam Darnold and our second string QB, Siemian, out as well (seriously, how many teams can actually win games with a third-stringer?) Our best tight-end and Sam’s safety net, Herndon, is suspended as well. 3) Our O-Line barely has had any time together in camp with Kalil coming on close to the end of camp. Missed and blown assignments everywhere, not being on the same page…they haven’t had any time to gel and get in sync. Coupled with the fact that it’s a new system for them spells disaster for the team. I’m not making excuses for Gase. I honestly think Gregg Williams could light a fire under this team and make it better. He’s done it before. Gase’s playcalling as been suspect at best and horrendous at worst and he seems content with blaming players and throwing them under the bus. He hasn’t made any adjustments nor maximized the potential of the skill players. Sure, the roster is terrible in places, but there is also talent in other areas. I can see this team coming together, if Sam and our other players get back and the line gets in-sync, and putting together a streak towards the end of the season, where our schedule gets easier. 7-9 or maybe even 8-8 is probably our final record.

On the upcoming schedule:
If Darnold, Mosley, Q. Williams and Jenkins are healthy, why cant we beat the Eagles? Everyone is acting like the roster that played against the Patriots is the roster we’re going to be trotting out the rest of the year. Then the following week Herndon comes back. When we get back to full strength, I don’t see why we cant beat the Eagles, Jags, Phins x 2, Giants, Skins, Raiders, Steelers and Bills.

On the difference between Gase and Rex:
Gase said before the game he didn’t care if the Pats crushed us, and had nothing but compliments for the Pats and their players.. Its basically the exact opposite of when Rex said he wasn’t here to kiss the rings, Gase didn’t just kiss the rings they may have got him pregnant.
-Jetset17
On Gase’s track record against the Pats:
Remember when one of the justifications for hiring Gase was his teams look good against the Pats?
