What was the most important play of the Jets’ loss to the Patriots?

NFL: New York Jets at New England Patriots Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

In a game so thoroughly dominated by one side it is difficult to pick out a singular play as particularly important. The Patriots controlled their Week 3 victory over the Jets from the opening kickoff.

If I was to pick one play, I probably would choose Tom Brady’s 41 yard completion to Ryan Izzo on New England’s first drive. It was the biggest play of the first scoring drive in the rout. Additionally, it came on a third down play. The Jets defense had a chance to get off the field and force a punt on the game’s first series. Instead they busted a coverage, which turned into a big gain. Eventually the Pats cashed in for a touchdown.

I doubt the Jets getting a stop there would have had much impact on the game’s outcome. With that said, it sent the Jets on their way to a terrible start in a blowout defeat.

Which play do you think was most important in this game?
