Head coach Adam Gase offered a ray of hope for the 2019 Jets on Friday as he indicated the team will not place quarterback Sam Darnold on injured reserve.

On if he may put Darnold on injured reserve with the intent of bringing him back...

No, we will get him back. It’s not going to be that long.

Whether that statement is actually true remains to be seen. The Jets could end up placing Darnold on IR at any point. Still it is a glimmer of positive news in a rough week.

In other news, the Jets got a few more positive developments on the injury front. Le’Veon Bell and Kelvin Beachum were limited participants in practice after missing it entirely on Thursday. Jamal Adams was a full participant after a limited Thursday.

In less positive news, C.J. Mosley, Quinnen Williams, and Demaryius Thomas missed practice entirely for a second straight day.
