Thursday Night Football, Week 2. Tonight the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel north to take on the Carolina Panthers in a NFC South grudge match.

The Buccaneers have had trouble in Carolina, winning just once in their last six visits. Overall the Panthers are 9-3 against Tampa Bay since 2013, limiting the Bucs to an average of 15.9 points.

Tampa’s defense has struggled mightily on the road, allowing 20 or more points in 19 consecutive road games, the NFL’s longest such streak in more than 20 years. If the Buccaneers extend that streak one more game tonight, it will be the longest such streak in more than 30 years.

Since his 2015 rookie season, Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston has been plagued by turnovers. His 61 interceptions since 2015 are the most of any NFL quarterback in that stretch.

For the Panthers, a banged up Cam Newton has failed to throw a TD pass in three straight games for the first time in his nine-year NFL career. He’s had at least one interception in seven consecutive games, one shy of his career-worst streak from 2014.

These are two quarterback challenged teams going at it on Thursday Night. It’s the Panthers and the Buccaneers in a NFC South divisional showdown. Are you ready for some football?

Enjoy the game everybody.
