The results of preseason games don’t matter at all. In a few weeks nobody will remember that the Jets lost tonight to the Giants.
The events of preseason that last the longest are the injuries. The Jets did not come out of their opener unscathed. Starting right guard Brian Winters suffered a shoulder injury. Head coach Adam Gase indicated Winters will need further tests before it can be diagnosed.

Earlier in the week the Jets traded with the Ravens to acquire guard Alex Lewis. Lewis has been projected as a backup. He might find himself in the starting lineup sooner rather than later depending on the severity of Winters’ injury.
The good news is we still have approximately one month until the start of the regular season for Winters to recover. The bad news is the Jets just signed a center with whom Winters will need to develop chemistry so missed practice time could hurt on that front.
