Final Score: Jets 6, Eagles 0

NFL: Preseason-Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

In the Jets’ final pre-season game of 2019, on a beautiful August night in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the New York Jets beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 6 - 0.

In the worst game of the year to watch, the Jets backups were a little better than the Eagles backups. Trenton Cannon, Josh Bellamy, Blake Cashman and Valentine Holmes impressed. Davis Webb and Taylor Bertolet did not.

With the win the Jets finish the 2019 pre-season with a 2 - 2 record, a fact that will be forgotten shortly after the games start to count. We now head to cutdown weekend, when roster cuts are made, the team scours other teams’ cuts for waiver wire pickups, a trade or two might happen, the practice squad is formed and the team’s opening day 53 man roster takes shape. Opening day and real NFL football are just around the corner now.

I’ll be around for a more in depth recap of tonight’s game a bit later this evening. In the meantime leave your comments on the game below.
