In a move unlikely to have much consequence one way or the other, the New York Jets have re-signed rookie safety Santos Ramirez and waived cornerback Dee Delaney to make room on the roster.
Ramirez, an undrafted free agent out of the University of Arkansas, originally signed with the Jets in May. The Jets waived him six days ago. He was cut by the Jets six days ago to make room for linebacker Stephone Anthony after Avery Williamson was lost for the season.
Ramirez played 45 games in four seasons for Arkansas and racked up 228 tackles, three interceptions and 13 passes defended.
Delaney was signed by the Jets in late July after being cut by the Miami Dolphins in May. He played two games with the Jacksonville Jaguars without registering a stat in 2018 before he was waived.
