In the Jets’ third pre-season game of 2019, on a cool August night in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the New York Jets lost to the New Orleans Saints, 28 - 13.
In an ugly, sloppy, penalty infested contest, the Jets first string units were dominated by the Saints first teamers, and the Jets backups were outplayed by the Saints backups. In short, the Saints are simply a better, deeper football team than the Jets, and it showed.
With the loss the Jets pre-season record for 2019 goes to 1 - 2. We now head to the final preseason game just five days away, followed shortly thereafter by possible trades, final cuts, waiver wire pickups and the solidifying of the Jets opening day roster. Opening day is just around the corner now, just 15 days away.
I’ll be around for a more in depth recap of tonight’s game a bit later this evening. In the meantime leave your comments on the game below.
