Week 3 of the NFL pre-season has the New York Jets hosting the New Orleans Saints in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Most starters for the Jets will likely see at least a full half of action. The Saints are likely to do something similar, although top veterans like Drew Brees might not go that long. This is the pre-season game that bears the most resemblance to real NFL action. It will be instructive to note how the Jets starters do in extended action against the starters of one of the best teams in the NFL. While one half of a pre-season game, even the third game, is not going to be a definitive statement as to how the Jets stack up against the rest of the league, it still would be encouraging if the Jets starters can stand toe to toe against the starters of a team as good as the Saints and not look over-matched. In addition, with training camp over and final cuts just a week away, this game provides players their best opportunity to state their cases to win position battles and make the 53 man roster.
It’s the Jets and the Saints in pre-season action. Leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
