The Jets are back on the practice field today as training camp continues from the team facility in Florham Park, New Jersey. Things are set to get started around 8:25 a.m. Eastern.
The big news on Thursday was a big move the Jets made. After a long offseason the team was finally able to procure a quality center. Joe Douglas was able to coax Ryan Kalil out of retirement. The long-time Panthers center will come to New York on a one year deal. Kalil should be an instant upgrade at the center position. Poor play at this position over the last two years has been a major impediment to the team’s offense so this appears to be a very important signing.
Kalil won’t be practicing today. The team is less than one week away from the start of the preseason so I am sure the coaching staff is looking for a sharp day of work.
