Week 2 of the NFL pre-season has the New York Jets traveling south to play the Atlanta Falcons.
Most starters for the Jets will likely see a quarter or more of action. Seven Jets starters will be held out of tonight’s game, including Le’Veon Bell, Leonard Williams, Marcus Maye, Ryan Kalil, Kelechi Osemele, Trumaine Johnson and Brian Winters. The Falcons appear likely to rest some of their key starters as well. Like the first game, there is little in the way of game planning, the play calling tends to be fairly plain vanilla stuff, and with backups squaring off against backups much of the night, the results will tell us little about how the season is likely to unfold. However, with training camp officially over and the dress rehearsal third pre-season game up next, this game provides the backups one of their last chances to solidify their roster spots. Keep an eye on who comes into the game when; that should be revealing as to who is likely to make the 53 man roster in a few weeks.
It’s the Jets and the Falcons in pre-season action. Leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
