The Jets are back on the practice field today as training camp nears its conclusion. The team is scheduled to break camp tomorrow.
Sunday was eventful for the Jets. The team made a change at kicker. Chandler Catanzaro is out. The veteran kicker announced his retirement after missing a pair of extra points in the first preseason game. Catanzaro announced his retirement. Taylor Bertolet was signed to replace him for the time being, although Bertolet had an inconsistent first practice.
The Jets also suffered a key injury as Trumaine Johnson sustained a hamstring injury after an interception. We don’t know much about the injury at this point in time, but it doesn’t sound as though the Jets are expecting him to return to the lineup immediately. As always, we will have to wait and see.
