Offense carries the day at Jets training camp

The second Jets practice of training camp is now in the books, and by all accounts it was a big day for the passing game.

As always please note this is one practice. There isn’t much to be gained by overanalyzing the daily temperature of the team. This is what happened.

If the Jets are going to have a good 2019, I presume this will be a football team carried by its offense. It will need the young quarterback to breakout and the big names at skill positions to produce to their capabilities. Unlike many recent successful Jets teams, the defense will not be tasked with carrying the team. It will need to be good enough. That’s the plan at least.

Perhaps the Darnold to Anderson 50 yard touchdown against Johnson can be considered a microcosm of the current situation. I don’t think it will be the last time we hear that Darnold and Anderson connected deep. I don’t think it will be the last time we hear that Johnson got burned.
