New York Jets Flight Connections 7/22/19

Good morning, Jet fans! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. As always, shout out to Mr. Wells for holding down the fort over the weekend. Newly acquired Jets RB Le’Veon Bell is having an issue with people criticizing him this season, and all I can say is that he better get used to it. If he thought the spotlight was on him in Pittsburgh, I hope he realizes that it will only be amplified playing for a ‘NY’ based team. Sometimes people forget that although media has taken off to a large extent throughout the world, some places just seem to trigger much more influence, a greater microscope, and added pressure on people. New York area teams face that as much as anyone, so it will be interesting to see how Bell handles this as the season progresses. If he happens to have a slow start, be prepared for a bombardment from the talking heads about him being washed up. If he does well, be equally ready for the highest of praises. It’s always a double-edged sword regardless of how you look at it.

Speaking of RB’s, it’s interesting to note that Bilal Powell will be the most tenured Jet on the team. I’m not sure if that says a lot or a little about the team’s recent success, but it sure shows that not many have been able to stick around throughout the years. That’s not a knock on Powell, it’s just at best he’s a complementary RB and at worst he’s a buried depth guy elsewhere. Perhaps he can regain his status as the former this upcoming year and provide the Jets with an added spark off the bench. With that said, here are your links to start your weekday off right.
