New York Jets Flight Connections 7/17/19

Good morning, Jet fans! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. I’d like to personally thank all of you for the kind words yesterday, it’s greatly appreciated and a reminder of why I write for the best fanbase the NFL has to offer. The Jets have made another move in the front office, hiring Matt Sheldon as director of football research and strategy. Sheldon has ties to both Adam Gase and Joe Douglas, as he worked with the two in Chicago, and again with Gase in Miami for the last two years holding the same position he now has with the Jets. An interesting hire considering Miami’s success, but not surprising considering the familiarity between him, Gase and Douglas. In other news, beat reporter Manish Mehta is making noise in Tennessee after finding out that Titans’ QB Marcus Mariota has a higher ‘Madden’ rating than our own Sam Darnold. Personally I really don’t understand the hype and emotional attachment people are having towards a video game, but the only way to change that rating is to be successful. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been in the cards for the team for a while, so until that happens expect the players and team to be undermined by those with the authority to choose ‘Madden’ rankings, and power rankings alike.
